Mrs. Edna S. Roth

Wife, Friend, Sister, and Mother
Biologist, former Librarian of the Dowse Memorial Library, and former Librarian of the Sherborn Public Library

Mrs. Edna Roth was the former librarian of the Sherborn Dowse Memorial Library and the Sherborn Public Library. Mrs. Roth received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the New York University. She used her degree in World War 2, working as a biologist in laboratories to support the war. She married her husband Louis M. Roth and had her son Marc Roth.

After the war, she settled in Sherborn and worked as the librarian of the Dowse Memorial Library. The library was converted into the Sherborn Public Library. During this renovation, she was in charge of transferring over 20,000 books between the locations.

She also spent much of her time involved with the Friends of the Sherborn library which was founded in 1971. The organization remains today.

Mrs. Roth passed away in 2015.
