Ms. Deborah Perry Dowse- Coolidge was the daughter of Rev. Edward Dowse, and the sister of William Bradford Homer Dowse. When living in Sherborn, she worked as a Sherborn School Teacher and a local historian in town.
She was heavily involved with the Dowse Memorial Library of Sherborn, built in 1914. This library was replaced in 1971 by the Sherborn Town Library. It currently houses the Sherborn Town Offices.
Mrs. Dowse-Coolidge wrote The History of Sherborn, a book of stories and information about Sherborn, MA. In the work, she wrote of the development of the town and of various historical figures (some of which are included in this collection)
