Mother, Grandmother, Friend, Aunt, Wife, Sister
Executive Director of Horse SenseAbility
Her Story
Mrs. Polly Kornblith attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education and received her E.D.M. She then went on tomanage innovative health and nutrition education programs for over 10 years. For the next 30 years, she worked in highly technological environments, designing online learning programs for companies, universities, global organizations, and nonprofits.
Horse SenseAbility
In 2018, she founded her organization "Horse SenseAbility," a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping underserved and at-risk youth and young adults. The program works to develop life skills by working with horses in Sherborn, MA.
She would describe herself as "unflappable, supportive, and organized," with her work. For young people interested in following a similar path, she recommends setting "big goals" and working hard to achieve them.
A Typical Day
On a typical day, Mrs. Kornblith is busy with many tasks to sustain her program. Everyday, she must ensure that the facility meets the standards of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH). Within her facility, she supervises instructors and serves as a mentor for instructors in training. She closely collaborates with local schools and social service organizations in MetroWest to expand her program, while also planning events, such as concerts with local artists, benefits, and ice cream socials for participants and their families. She also finances her program and writes grants.
Her greatest sources of inspiration stem from her students and her animals.
