Dr. Linda Marie Worcester
Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Wife
Emergency Medicine Physician
Her Story
Dr. Linda Marie Worcester works as an adult physician at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Prior to making the switch to the healthcare field, she worked in an accounting firm for approximately one year. Despite pressures to follow the secure path of accounting, Dr. Worcester always knew that she wanted to pursue medicine and did so. From this experience of changing life paths, Dr. Worcester learned that it is never too late to improve your life and that following your dreams is crucial to one's happiness.
After volunteering at a local hospital to receive science credits and nannying for a local family, she enrolled in medical school. While completing her residency at the Boston University School of Medicine, she met her husband Dr. Jason Worcester who had been a student there and resident for many years.
South Shore Hospital
She later began working at South Shore Hospital, in the ER and has been working as a physician in the emergency department ever since. After a few years living in Boston, MA and a few more in Medway, MA, she moved to Sherborn with her husband and two young children in 2006.
Today, she is a proud mother to five children: Jack (19), Emily (Author, 17), Sara (14), Kate (11), and Ted (8).
Outside of her work at the South Shore Hospital, she enjoys taking part in wellness initiatives and fitness.
She has run the Boston Marathon, the Shipyard Maine Coast Half Marathon, the Mount Washington Road Race, many local 5k races, and hiked to the summit of Mount Mansfield and other mountains.
