Mrs. Jane Materazzo
Wife, Friend, Aunt, and Mother
Senior Vice President at Fidelity Investments
Lawyer

Her Story

Mrs. Jane Materazzo is a lawyer and a Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Fidelity Investments. On a typical day, she works closely with her clients negotiating commercial transactions, protecting intellectual property, and advising on legal matters. Her favorite aspect of her job is her ability to help her clients to achieve their business goals every day.
Before attending Law School, she worked as an associate at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She notes that she “enjoyed that work,” but was looking for something different. After this position, she attended Wellesley College to receive her B.A. and then Harvard University to receive her JD.

Advice to Young People
She recommends that young people interested in law consider that “A law school education can be used in a myriad of ways. Don’t assume it’s all about time in the courtroom.”

Her Inspirations

Mrs. Materazzo's inspirations stem from her deep desire to live a life of useful service and contribution to her community. She admires those who “consistently demonstrate integrity, open-mindedness, and compassion.” These values are very important to her.
She consistently reminds herself that “there is always something to be grateful for.” This message is one that she hopes others will appreciate and apply to their lives.

Outside Interests

Beyond her life at work, she loves to read, watch films, and work with non-profit causes including Boards of the Wellesley College Alumnae Association and the Thomas Becket Foundation, an organization established to foster the spiritual development of the Brown-RISD Catholic Community.

As an avid hiker and snowshoer, she enjoys the outdoors that Sherborn has to offer, which she describes as a"beautiful bucolic setting and small-town feel."

Sherborn Town Advisory Committee

Mrs. Materazzo sits on the Sherborn Town Advisory Commitee as the Vice Chair as of 2022.
